January is National Radon Action Month. Radon is a radioactive gas that is naturally occurring, odorless, and is the 2nd leading cause of lung cancer in the in the United States. It can only be detected through testing. According to the Wisconsin Department of Health Services, about 1 in 10 homes in Wisconsin has high radon levels.
Paul Nicholson of Radon Measurement & Elimination Services of WI will be at the library to present an informative program on “Radon in Your Home.” This program will educate people on how radon works, its dangers, testing procedures, and possible responses to elevated levels in your home. Free to attend. No registration required.
