32nd Annual Used Book Sale

The Annual Used Book Sale is just around the corner – March 1-4 – at the Elm Grove Library. The Friends began the sale 32 years ago! Its purpose is still the same — to donate funds to the Elm Grove Library for purchasing new items for the Library’s collection. The sale benefits residents in Elm Grove plus every library user in Waukesha and Jefferson counties.

The Used Book Sale has earned the reputation of being the region’s biggest and best organized event. It also features a “Collector’s Table” (which offers 500 to 900 rare, unique or collectible items), all individually priced. In total, there are thousands of items, books, CDs, DVDs, Vinyl, and more! Most items $1-2.

For many people, the sale is also a social event. The shoppers are often friends and neighbors of the 80 Friends members who volunteer for a shift or two during the event. It is not uncommon to see the same people shop during each of the three days, nor those who had volunteered to return do their own shopping.

All Friends of Elm Grove Library members can attend the “Preview Night” on Thursday, March 1 from 6 - 9 PM. The sale is open to the public on Friday, March 2, 9 AM - 7 PM, Saturday, March 3, 9 AM - 5 PM (half price sale), and Sunday, March 4, noon - 4 PM ($5 a bag sale). Come see!
