Sleepover at the Library – Wed., July 26, volunteers at 5:45 until about 9:00 p.m. A couple of volunteers will also be needed Thursday morning, July 27, at 10:00-11:00 to return toys. Kids will arrive at 6:30 Wednesday evening with a stuffed toy or doll for a half-hour story time. The toys will then stay at the library overnight for an adventure of their own. Teen volunteers will help with the story time and then document with photos the adventure each toy had. This activity involves imagination and creativity, photography, scrap-booking, and lots of fun! Well-organized high school students preferred for this event because efficiency is critical in making this event work well.

Shelf Reading (Flexible Schedule) – Up to 6 volunteers needed for the summer.

This opportunity involves straightening and organizing the books in the library. It generally requires a commitment of 30-45 minutes per week for a minimum of six weeks during the summer. Training for the summer will take place on Wednesday, June 14 at 3:30-4:30 p.m. An alternate training time can be arranged if needed. After training, volunteers can choose when they want to work. Shelf reading can be continued during the school year.

If you are interested in helping with any of these programs, download a teen volunteer application, or pick one up in the library.
