Libraries Rock! - June 11 - August 11.
Special Performances for all ages - 10:30 a.m. on Thursdays in the O’Neill Room
July 19 - Fox and Branch - Family folk music with guitars, fiddle, banjo, washboard, and audience participation
July 26 - Great Scott and the Rockin' the Library Magic Show - Magic , humor, and fun facts
Tuesday Movie Matinees - June 12 - July 31, 1:00 p.m. (end time varies depending upon the movie)
Catch up on recent family movies by watching them at the library! Kids can bring a blanket or pillow to sit on the floor. We’ll provide the popcorn! All ages are welcome. No registration needed.

July 24 - Paddington 2 (2017), PG, 105 min.
July 31 - Lego Ninjago Movie (2017), PG, 90 min.
Sleepover at the Library - Wednesday, July 25 and Thursday, July 26
Drop-off begins at 6:30 and story time is 6:45-7:15 on Wednesday
Pick-Up at 10:00 a.m. or later on Thursday
Ages: Preschool through grade 2.
Note: Registration is full for this event. You may be added to the waitlist.
This is a sleepover for your favorite stuffed animal or doll. Bring your toy to the library at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 25 and we will tuck him/her in together for the night with some cookies and stories. When you come back for him/her on Thursday morning, you will what your toy did during the night! Just to be clear—kids don’t sleep over, just their toys.
Locked In The Library - An Escape Room Event for Teens
Friday, August 3, 5:00 - 7:00 p.m.
Can you escape? Intrepid teens 12 and up are invited to join us for the library's first Escape Room event! Use teamwork and intellect to find the clues and solve the puzzles to escape the library, before you're locked in forever...Just kidding, you won't be locked in. Sign up for this program at the library or call 262-782-6717.
Afternoon Events for School-Age Kids (first grade or older)
Wednesday, August 1 at 1:00 p.m.
Duke Otherwise - A wide variety of musical styles and instruments, clever lyrics, and clean, honest humor. Appropriate for all ages.
Summer Reading Program - Libraries Rock! / June 11-August 11
If you need some extra motivation to spend time reading this summer, sign up for the summer reading program. There is a program available for every age, birth through teens. Information available at the library beginning June 11.
Creative Writing Contest / June 11 - August 4
Enter the writing contest with a poem, essay, short story, etc. Winning entries will be published in the Elm Grove News Independent and all entries will be displayed in the library. Contest information is available online or at the library. Ages Kindergarten and up.
Bedtime Math / June 11 - August 1
Work out a new math problem every night from the Bedtime Math website, then add a star to your chart! The first 20 kids to complete their charts will receive a Bedtime Math flying disc. Pick up star chart and information in library. Ages 5 - 11.
Therapy Pet Reading Program
For students who would like extra practice reading aloud. Students in grades 1-5 may sign up for a 25-minute session per month with a dog or cat. Advance registration required.
Dexter the cat:
Monday, August 20, at 4:30, 5:00, or 5:30 p.m.
Clover the dog: Tuesday, July 24, at 4:00 or 4:30 p.m.
Enzo the dog: Saturdays, July 21, at 10:00, 10:30, or 11:00 a.m.
